I’m of the Awake People today, in fact because I woke up early this morning and as a figure of speech because I can’t remain silent on an epidemic going on in our times: perpetual ignorance causing unhappiness on a massive scale.
Even if I’m happy in my own little world, I can’t help but notice all that is going plainly wrong around me. That affects in turn everyone’s happiness capacities because we’re all interrelated, as science says each atom is entangled with others, and our happiness can’t be at its greatest because some of us aren’t contented.
I could have postponed this post but I want to talk about serious matter on this blog and it seems right to speak about important issues from the start. Also, even if I’m not top shape this morning I figured I would just do what I love which is taking a hot bath, then writing and talking about this topic before going on with my day.
So with my website, I want to dig deep down and unearth the cause of happiness and how to do what we love but also their counterparts such as unhappiness, hate, injustice and suffering. Exposing them means starting to find a way to discontinue them.
Being aware, wide awake, is one of the core problems in our societies – most of us aren’t. As I did a search, to expose this hard stuff rightly, on what other writers on the internet are telling about it I found almost nothing, to my surprise, with the keywords:
- Writing about hard stuff
- Difficult topics
- Aware, conscious or awaken, awoken, awakened, awakening, awake people.
There’s no major serious websites or post on it but a few courageous ones.
What? If we keep talking about superficial issues, how can we even proceed to have a better world? By keeping important subjects buried, we encourage dreadful events and consequences going on such as raging wars, baffled human rights, murder of innocent sentient beings and other awful issues. We’ve got to expose them and make them mainstream so we can evolve.
Definitions of Conscious, Blissful and Awake People
By being Awake People I don’t mean in the sense of Jehovah witnesses but in a broader spiritual awareness sense. Let’s take a look to the definitions of being awake, conscious and blissful:
- Awake: To rouse from sleep or a sleep like state; to become conscious or aware;
- Conscious: Having an awareness of one’s environment and one’s own existence, sensations, and thoughts;
- Blissful: Extremely happy; full of joy. All is Well after all.
10 Steps to Be of the Conscious, Blissful and Awake People
-
Wake-up and Be Willing to Be an Awake Person
What I find when I talk about conscious issues is that people do perceive bad situations are going on. They see the political corruption, the slavery of modern routines and more… But what I find also is that most of us are too occupied or unwilling to do something about all of it, going from “That’s all too frustrating and there are too much stuff to do – so I don’t do nothing” to “ I don’t know where to start!”
Well if only a small group of people can do disastrous events such as genocides and 9/11, no matter if it was a conspiracy or not, it means a small group of people can change things around. We have got examples in the past, such as Mother Teresa, Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr. Imagine if we all come together on ideals and basic rights, we could make them a reality!

Beware of Our Ways of Believing Lies so We Stay Balanced
Bad things might be going on because we allow it too. The psychological phenomenon of cognitive dissonance is that we can’t live in discordance, we have to be congruent. We cannot see one thing and think another way so we can make up a whole fake system of belief to make all sounds true.
For example we can be blind to what is obvious so we keep our fragile equilibrium and certainties. For some issues, we keep acting as if the Earth is flat. But it’s not! So be aware that human beings tend to do that when you look out for the truth and be willing to change your system of beliefs, you can do it too.

Don’t Follow the Flock, Be an Individual
We’re not sheep, we’re past that in our evolution I think, so why are we so preoccupied by what others think of us and are we willing to live in lies in a make-up sleepy world so we can have their support? You can assure you own security and most chances are you will be fine doing so. Moreover, each of us is unique, has rights and can be free.
You can try slowly to be yourself, such as putting a new outfit you love, making small steps and confront what is going wrong when you see it.

Get to Know the Truth
Recognize what is the truth, seek it, and take a look to the other side of the stories. It is said that the truth will set us free; I believe it’s a good statement. Do research on topics with renowned references (read: experts) before believing what you heard of them on the news, in school or by anyone who hasn’t done so.
-
Seek Goodness
“Each person has inside a basic decency and goodness. If he listens to it and acts on it, he is giving a great deal of what it is the world needs most. It is not complicated but it takes courage. It takes courage for a person to listen to his own goodness and act on it.”
– Pablo Casals
Use your own heart to gage what is good and act upon it. When you’re unsure in a situation, take time to think about it and don’t act too fast, hurting others. Do unto others humans, sentient beings and Earth as you would like they do unto you :
“The Golden Rule or ethic of reciprocity is a maxim, ethical code, or morality that essentially states either of the following:
- One should treat others as one would like others to treat oneself (positive form)
- One should not treat others in ways that one would not like to be treated (negative/prohibitive form, also called the Silver Rule)
The Golden Rule is arguably the most essential basis for the modern concept of human rights, in which each individual has a right to just treatment, and a reciprocal responsibility to ensure justice for others.A key element of the Golden Rule is that a person attempting to live by this rule treats all people with consideration, not just members of his or her in-group. The Golden Rule has its roots in a wide range of world cultures, and is a standard different cultures use to resolve conflicts.” (Wikipedia)
If spirituality and science say truth, saying that all is well, nothing is lost and all finds a new purpose, we are already in a state of bliss but we have to make it a reality for everyone. People don’t see it nowadays, especially those in poor situations.
An exercise for today : find out what you can plan to do good, in your family, at work, in your community…

Regroup
We have got to stop being a minority of awake people and make it mainstream. With the means of communication we have today and all the resources, we’re entering an age of knowledge. I think this is what our time is for, an age of truth.
Join community groups such as Facebook group Awake People Group: Unites Conscious and Blissful People (and our Facebook page Be Happy and Do What You Love by the way) or start your own.
-
Act Doing What You Love
Use who you are to spread the truth and goodness around. Everyone has a part to play and can specialize as their talents, interests and needs lead them. You don’t have to do something you hate except if you can stop directly something bad for someone. The need for change is vast enough for everyone to do something they like for it.
I did find what I love in writing and many others did too with time, will and/or courageous efforts also. You can read this article on doing what you love to help you do that too.

Tell Others and Awake Them
“Our task must be to free ourselves by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty.”
- Albert Einstein
Some people just don’t know what’s going on. And it understandable with the education we have in our days.
You can start by just asking questions with your friends and family like :
- Why can’t we ensure everyone has enough to eat on Earth? What can we do together to end famines?
- Why do we call ourselves civilized but keep encouraging lasting wars worldwide – fighting for peace, isn’t it twisted?
- How can we replace our democracies with a fair system that truly represents us efficiently?
- How can we print our own money and take charge of it instead of allowing private corporate banks rule over countries and enslave us paying for raising interests?
- How can we consume in a way that is more respectful of all, ourselves, animals and the whole planet?
Shake up minds, brainstorm ideas to find how you can make a change. Expand to a wider circle afterwards… or right away!
-
Be Responsible
It leads me to my favorite quote from Gandhi :
“Be the change you wish to see in the world.”
Those important issues matter over trivial pursuits – we can’t go on accumulating possessions in a human individual race and step onto others, because in the end it affects us.
Act upon what you know is the truth and is good. Be a walking role model. We’re just human, we can make mistakes so we should be kind and forgiving, and we can do our best at being it.
I think this is what our world lacks most, responsibility along with love for one another. We expect others to stand up for ourselves when we are really the ones in charge.
We have to wake-up, choose to make a change and do it. It’s as simple as that but yes, it takes efforts. It’s a price to pay but it’s rewarding, and I think it’s better than being in a sleepy selfish state. We can and need to be our own masters.

Get Inspired by Awake People and Culture
Read a lot on conscious topics, such as the book Rule by Secrecy by Jim Marrs, the Web of Debt by Ellen Hodgson Brown or spirituality topics by Deepak Chopra. You can be inspired by righteous movies, documentaries and people too.
“Sometimes just a smile on your face
Can help to make this world a better place.
Stand up for the things that are right.
Try to talk things out instead of fight.
Lend a hand when you can, get involved this is good.
You can help to make a difference in your neighborhood.”
– Robert Alan
If we do nothing, we’re guilty to pass on this filth to younger generations…
