Your happiness right now might have to do with your ability to allow yourself to have some breaks and use happiness relaxation tips in it. Having more freedom, spare time and enjoying yourself could just be what you are looking for to improve your life!
I’m at the best time to talk about this because this is my last working hour before I go on vacation. I love the work I do, and I just finished an intensive amount of it setting the website up, putting a new ebook for sale and writing a big part of the new one on doing what you love to be launching this fall. But no matter how much we love what we do, or not – but for that please read my others articles on doing what you love, we’ve got to have a break at regular times.
Here are some of the benefits of breaks:
Benefit #1: Get More Happiness in Freedom
Happiness economics shows that people are happier when they feel free. This freedom can come from having more resources to do what we want and when we have control over our own life. By taking vacations and time for ourselves, we exert our right to freedom and do what pleases us.
Benefit # 2: Be Happier With Relaxation
During the next week, I plan to… relax a lot! Relaxation has multiple benefits. It wasn’t until the 70′s until scientific research was interested in meditation, a way of relaxing that has great effects on the body. It reduces stress related factors and keeps the body balanced.
On your spare time, allow yourself to relax. Take a break from too much information (TMI), too many activities and too many interactions that are social problems these days. The happiness relaxation tips here are to have meaningful ones instead and slow your pace.
Benefit # 3: Having Fun in Spare Time
Allow yourself to be silly, be in the joy of the moment and laugh. As the jesters helped people do in the old days, having fun contributes to general happiness, keeps entertain and releases tensions.
Benefit # 4: Having More Leisure Gets People Happier
Increased leisure goes with lift in happiness too. All leisure contribute to it, but not the television maybe because it is watched when there is nothing better to do or it keeps us from doing what we really love to do. Take care of having control over your leisure too and pick activities that really interest you.
Benefit # 5: Replenish Your Energy, Replenish your Happiness
Not only you slow your pace when you allow yourself to really take a break but you have time to get energitized back by sleeping, eating or going outside in the sunny nature. Employees who take breaks are shown to be more productive! The Director at Hays Jacky Carter said on a survey of 585 people:
“While productivity is a complex issue, these results do show that taking a break away from the office at lunch, whether for 5 minutes or your full entitlement, improves employees’ productivity,” said “With business activity currently high, the tendency can be for employees to decide to work through lunch, yet even taking a short break will help improve productivity, effectiveness and efficiency.”
Just Be Happier With Your Relaxation Time
Now that you know the importance of breaks, make sure to have some through out your day and respect them. It is also important to take all of your vacation time! Make conscious use of happiness relaxation tips all the while. Doing this is one of the tools to ensure you to be a very happy person.
