Could your way of living hurt you and would it be a better idea to rediscover nature to be happy and healthy?
Some recent findings and time-tested wisdom suggest happiness is related to being able to enjoy a close bond with nature.
Introducing those 5 natural tips in your life could make you incredibly happier and healthier:
1. Get nature close to you because it is a need
The bond between humans and nature discovered by research has been called biophilia, and the recognized sociobiologist E.O. Wilson defined it as “the connections that human beings subconsciously seek with the rest of life.”
“Our existence depends on this propensity,” he specifies. “Our spirit is woven from it, hopes rise on its currents.”
It has also being discovered that people who live near water are happier because a close source of water has always been important to humans.
To many people, “nature” means plants as in a park or forest, but the weather and animals are also closely involved. In the book Children and Nature: Psychological, Sociocultural, and Evolutionary Investigations edited by Peter Kahn and Stephen Kellert, the importance of animals, especially those with which a child can develop a nurturing relationship, is emphasized particularly for early and middle childhood. (Wikipedia, Biophilia Hypothesis)
So get as much nature as you can where you live. Pick a home in a natural surrounding near water, go outside whenever you can and redecorate your home with plants. By the way, NASA experiments say it takes about 15-18 plants in a home to clear it from its toxicity.
2. Get some sun
Being healthy is linked to being happy. Getting all that our body needs is primordial for health.
A lack of sun could be more disease causing than getting out in the sun for a limited time without sunscreen! Our body creates the precious vitamin D from absorbing sunrays. Many diseased are caused by a lack of vitamin D and this deficiency is common. It has even been controversially advocated to get some mild bed tanning to have vitamin D because it is poorly absorbed in the food.
And the American National Institute of Cancer declares it is not apparent if avoiding the sun lowers skin cancer risk. Also beware of the toxicity of common sunscreens, in which many chemical products are absorbed into your skin.
Getting short exposure to the sun daily to limit UV damages but enough to get vitamin D and choosing a natural sunscreen without nanoparticules if needed (see Badger sunscreen) might be the wisest, healthy, happy choice.
3. Natural happy friends
There are happy bacteria, Mycobacterium vaccae, in the soil that affect our moods. They could be even used for sickness treatments! Some scientists see it as the new natural Prozac because, without the bad effects of the latter, it targets the same nerves. A study with cancer patients showed it lessens pain, nausea and gives a better quality of life.
And living in a too clean environment has prone people to allergies and asthma. Getting outside trains your immune system to ignore benign molecules like pollen. Being someone who developed allergies, one with birch made me react to many fruits and vegetables, I have now less of them with natural desensitization and I strongly advertize to pay attention to this tip to have a better quality of life.
So don’t hold yourself back anymore, have some fun and get dirty! Play soccer in the mud, with your children outside and in your garden.
4. Get the miracles at work
Nature has many wonders. Take the time to enjoy them with all your senses! The pine smell is near to an addiction for me. I’m a wood junkie, I go there each week and take pictures, that you will see everywhere on the blog. As soon as go there I feel a blissful, happy energy and it’s certainly healthy just for the clean air.
Nature is full of miracles, and being in the now in it as well as grateful for it is linked to happiness.
Try this exercise to be extra-sensitive. Stay still in a natural setting and use all your senses. I swear there is therapeutic medicine too in the pleasant smell, the crickets and birds sounds or the wind’s touch.
5. Get on your best frequency
Nature helps get your natural frequency clean, that’s why so many health retreats are there.
A Taino study found that when your natural frequency decreases you are more at risk of being sick, like having cancer, therefore unhappy. Chemical products found in an artificial way of life could lower your frequency.
Fresh, pure products of nature such as rose essential oil are found to have the higher frequencies, that is why we might be attracted to them. Eating fresh products and surrounding yourself with nature might help you, once again.
Meditation, where your body readjust itself in balance with a certain mode of consciousness, is facilitated in nature too and might help you a lot to be very happy and healthy.
Well, Nature Rocks!
Nature researches have been helpful in many ways and you now have great tools to sky-rocket your happiness and your wellbeing.
